Do I need to buy a device?

What's the ideal setup to get the most out of my XNET WIFI service?
Start with Cat6a or Cat7 Ethernet cables throughout your setup. Hardwire devices that need consistent performance like desktops and gaming consoles.
For larger homes or offices, a mesh Wi-Fi system with 2.5 Gbps ports and Wi-Fi 6E/7 support can help extend coverage without sacrificing speed.
Power users can also add a USB-C to 2.5G Ethernet adapter for laptops.
Does my device need to support Wi-Fi 7 to use XNET WIFI?
No. Our routers are backward compatible with Wi-Fi 6, 5, and earlier. Your devices will work just fine.
Wi-Fi 7 capable devices will simply be able to take advantage of the highest speeds available.
My TV seems slow. Is something wrong?
Probably not. Most smart TVs use older Wi-Fi chips, but they also don’t need much speed. Streaming 4K only requires about 20–30 Mbps.
For the most reliable experience, you can connect your TV with an Ethernet cable or use a streaming device like an Apple TV 4K or Roku Ultra.
What Ethernet cables should I use?
We recommend Cat6a or Cat7 cables for the best performance.
Older cables like Cat5 or Cat5e can significantly limit your speeds even when your connection is capable of much more. This applies to every cable in your setup, one weak link can hold everything back.
Why am I not seeing the maximum advertised speed on my device?
Your speed is only as fast as the weakest link in your setup. Your device’s Wi-Fi chip, Ethernet cable type, and router configuration all play a role.
A quick test: if your phone shows fast speeds but your laptop doesn’t, your internet is working fine, the laptop Wi-Fi chip may the bottleneck.
